Kurt Hamilton

Kurt Hamilton has spent the last 9 years serving the city of Decatur as a police officer. During his time serving as an officer, Kurt has been involved in multiple possessions within the department as well as been awarded multiple different honors. Kurt has worked jobs ranging from patrol, detectives, revenue, honor guard, 6 years on S.W.A.T, as well as 5 years as the departments defensive tactics instructor. Through his career he has been awarded the Medal of Merit, Medal of Commendation, Chief Commendation, 2017 Employee of the year, 2017 American Legion Law Officer of the Year, as well as multiple Fitness and Marksmen awards.

Kurt is a current member of the 10th Planet Decatur Jiu Jitsu squad and has been training Jiu Jitsu for 1 year. Prior to Jiu Jitsu, Kurt had an extensive amature wrestling background. Kurt wrestled for Hartselle from 8th grade until he graduated from Hartselle. During his high school wrestling career Kurt qualified for the state tournament all four years in high school and placed 4th as a sophomore, 2nd as a junior, and 1st as a senior. Kurt was awarded multiple awards that included team captain of the Hartselle 2005 5A state championship team. After high school, Kurt wrestled on scholarship for Cumberland University located in Lebanon, Tennessee.
